The CBS Journal of Management Practices is the bi-annual, peer-reviewed research journal of Calcutta Business School. The journal provides an international platform for the dissemination of high-quality research and scholarly discussions on contemporary issues in management, business, and economics. It aims to address significant national and global challenges and examine their impact on the business and economic environment. Reflecting the core values of Calcutta Business School, the journal places special emphasis on ethical business practices, corporate governance, sustainability, and responsible management. It welcomes well-researched theoretical, empirical, analytical, and case-based studies that contribute to the advancement of management knowledge and practice. Since its inception in 2014, the CBS Journal of Management Practices has served as a valuable forum for academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to share innovative ideas and research findings. The journal was published regularly until 2018. Following a publication hiatus from June 2019 to June 2026, the journal resumed publication with its December 2026 issue, reaffirming its commitment to promoting academic excellence and research in management and allied disciplines.

The following types of papers will be considered for publication:

• Original research works, both theoretical and empirical be theoretical, analytical, empirical, case study-based results, and industry viewpoints.
• Exhaustive surveys of literature, including bibliometric studies and meta-analyses.
• Book review of a recently published, path-breaking book in management and related discipline.

Aim & Scope

The aim of the Journal is to provide a knowledge sharing platform for the study and dissemination of the latest developments and findings in the discipline of MANAGEMENT. The articles would be multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and would be functionally oriented with scope for application in the real world.

The scope of publication encompasses all areas of multidisciplinary research in social sciences, including all branches of management sciences, psychology, economics, sociology, etc. It welcomes both theoretical and empirical academic articles from all disciplines of social sciences.

Author Guidelines

Copyright & Permission

Articles submitted to the journal should not have been published before in their current or substantially similar form, or be under consideration for publication with another journal. Authors submitting articles for publication warrant that the work is original in nature and not an infringement of any existing copyright. A scanned copy of the permission letter (consent giving for publication) duly signed by each author should also be sent along with the manuscript.

Title Page & Page Numbering

Title Page should contain the following information and be sent as a separate attachment along with the manuscript.

• Title of the article
• Full name of each author
• Affiliation of each author
• Postal address and email ID of corresponding author in case more than one author is associated.
• Brief professional details of each author

Information related to 2–5 mentioned above should not come anywhere other than the title page only.

Abstract Details

The Abstract should have the word limit of 200–300 words, including keywords.

Language

Language of the articles should be in English only.

Full Paper

Should not be more than 8,000 words, including abstract, keywords and references. Book reviews should be between 1000-1500 words.

File Type

Authors should submit the articles only in MS Word format. Tables & Figures should also follow the same format. If equations were used, they should be converted using MS Office Equation Editor and pasted as images at the proper place. All equations should be grouped or may be prepared using equation editor software.

File Size

No article should exceed more than 10 pages unless necessary. Authors will be requested to substantiate the need if it exceeds the maximum number of pages. The file size of the MS Word format may not exceed 15 MB if it is submitted as an attachment over email.

Font

Articles should be typed in double line spacing with the following font pattern:

• Font type: Times New Roman
• Heading/Title: 12 pt, Bold
• Subtitles: 12 pt, Italic
• Content of article: 12 pt

Figure/Maps/Graphs/Drawings

Figures, including maps, graphs and drawings, should not be larger than page size. They should be numbered and arranged as per their references in the text. All photographs and scanned images should have a resolution of minimum 300 dpi and 1,500 pixels and their format should be TIFF or JPEG. Permissions to reprint should be obtained for copyright protected photographs/images.

Tables/Charts

Tables and charts presented in the text should be in black and white only. They must meet latest APA guidelines. The tables, figures and charts need not appear in separate document files. The tables, figures and charts should appear in the appropriate places in the text only where they should appear.

References

References should follow the format of APA Style Manual.

Footnotes

Footnotes should be used sparingly and should not be used for citing references.

Review Criteria

Acceptance of the article is subjected to two-times blind reviews. Authors may be asked for further modifications/revisions depending upon the comments of the reviewers. Acceptance or rejection of the article will be decided by the Editorial Board based on the reviewers' comments.
